This year F1 introduces new regulations, cars, rules, circuit and partnerships that will bring a change to F1 this season.
Coffee & TV’s effects team led by Steve Waugh joined forces with Sky Creative and Bigfoot Creative, to produce a title sequence that stylistically represents the rebuild of the sport.
My role on the project was to develop the look of the digital car and driver reveals in the first half of the sequence, bringing the shots through production to final comp and helping build a language for the GUI that would work in 3D space.

EARLY WORK
We experimented with many different ways of revealing the car and drivers during the making of the formula 1 titles.
One of the challenges we faced was finding a balance of clarity and detail, maintaining a sense of being technical and intricate without over-complicating and losing definition to support readability as many of the shots are fast paced.
Here are some of the early concepts that led to the final look of the reveal.
